Simona Halep Gets Knocked Out from Australian Open

Simona Halep has been knocked out from the Australian Open in the Round of 16 of the competition.

The Romanian was beaten 6-4,3-6,6-4, by 32-year-old Alize Cornet to was considering retirement at the end of this year. This is the first time Cornet's will reach the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam.

In another game, Danielle Collins also booked her spot in the quarter-finals with a win over Elise Mertens 4-6, 6-4,6-4.

In the Men's game, Daniil Medvedev got past Maxime Cressy 6-2, 7-6(4), 6-7(4), 7-5 while Felix Auger Aliassime stunned Marin Cilic 2-6,7-6(6), 6-2,7-6(4) to reach the quarter-finals of the competition. This is the third consecutive time the Canadian will be reaching the quarter finals of the Grand Slam.
