Raducanu has been under scrutiny since her success at the Flushing Meadows after she failed to repeat such feat as various competitions she has been in since the US Open. The Brit was able to get pass that distraction as she got past her American opponent in a three-set game.

She got through the first set in ease taking it 6-0 in just 18 minutes but Stephens showed why she was former world number three as she took the second set 6-2. The third set was another easy passage for Raducanu has she won the set 6-1.

The 19-year-old will hope the road to the final will be as easy as it happened in the United States of America.
