Former Chelsea defender, Ashley Cole has joined Frank Lampard at Everton Football Club as a member of the club's backroom staff.
The news was confirmed on Everton's official website on Thursday, February 3rd, 2022. Cole joined the Merseyside club from Chelsea's Academy to join newly appointed manager, Frank Lampard.
Cole was with Lampard at Derby County when the duo managed the Rams. The left-back moved with the former Chelsea man to Chelsea in 2019 where the English man took charge of the Blues' Academy team.
Cole expressed his delight in joining Frank Lampard at Everton and said he looks forward to greater days ahead at the club.
I was thrilled when Frank asked me to come join him at Everton. This is a brilliant opportunity with a fantastic club and I am coming here to work hard and try to help bring success to Everton. The chance to link up with Frank with a huge draw. He is an excellent manager and leader. With the rest of the staff here, we have everything in place for what we can achieve together.
Everton fans will hope Frank Lampard can help take them out of the relegation battle ahem the Premier League resumes.
