Arsenal's transfer move for Sesko takes a new turn

Arsenal FC’s rumored transfer move for forward, Benjamin Sesko has taken a new turn according to recent reports.

Arsenal according to numerous reports have officially initiated concrete transfer discussions over the potential signing of Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško, signalling their clear intent to bring the RB Leipzig forward to the Emirates this summer.

After months of monitoring and two failed approaches, the Gunners are now positioning themselves to capitalize on Šeško’s impending exit from the Bundesliga.

Šeško, 21, has long been a key target for Arsenal’s recruitment team. Sources indicate he has been consistently ranked high on the club’s shortlist of forward options, with both Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar deeply involved in tracking his progress.

Arsenal first attempted to secure his services in May 2024, shortly after the end of the Premier League season, and again in January during the winter transfer window.

On both occasions, RB Leipzig rebuffed the North London club’s advances, determined to keep their prized asset until at least the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

However, the landscape has now shifted. Leipzig are understood to have accepted that Šeško will leave the club this summer, and Arsenal are moving fast to ensure they are at the front of the queue.

With the Gunners once again looking to strengthen their attacking options, particularly in the centre-forward role, Šeško’s profile fits the club’s long-term vision: a dynamic, technically gifted, and physically imposing striker with high potential resale value.

Šeško scored 14 goals across all competitions for Leipzig in the 2024/25 season, attracting interest from several top European clubs.

But Arsenal’s persistence, coupled with Arteta’s project and a clear pathway to first-team football, could prove decisive in securing the young striker’s signature.

While the deal is not yet complete, sources close to the situation suggest talks are progressing positively, with Arsenal optimistic they can finalize terms in the coming weeks.

With the June 2025 transfer window heating up, Arsenal appear to be moving decisively to secure their man, one they’ve had their sights on for well over a year.

The next few days will be critical as the North London giants aim to land a key attacking reinforcement to fuel their title ambitions.
