Arsenal welcomes back first-team player from injury

The supporters of Arsenal Football Club received good news concerning the fitness of Jurrien Timber who has been out for almost seven months.

The Dutch International picked up a knock in the Gunners' opening game of the season against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates on Saturday, August 12, 2023. He sustained an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee which saw him undergo surgery.

However, the wait will soon be over for the Gunners supporters as the club posted a picture of Timber running on the grass which is good news for the club. He has completed some group work with the Arsenal senior squad however has not yet returned to full training, but he continues to do work on his own before he can train with the rest of the squad.

Recall that Arsenal's manager, Mikel Arteta has initially said that the defender will soon be back to fitness.

He said ahead of the league game against Newcastle United.

" I really hope so, he’s doing really well, he has been around some players on the pitch and we are going to start to do some bits with us in the next week or so. Then we need to see how that evolves, his confidence levels, his fitness levels and hopefully then the answer is yes."

Arsenal supporters will hope that he can get to full fitness before the end of the season when the games begin to come in thick and fast.
