A key player was forcefully substituted off for Arsenal in their Premier League defeat over the weekend and the injury concerns have been shared ahead of the Bayern Munich Champions League fixture.

Arsenal's season could go from bad to worse as Mikel Arteta confirmed that he had a forced injury substitution in the Gunners defeat in the hands of Unai Emery's Aston Villa, one that could in turn affect their must-win Champions League fixture against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

Mikel Arteta confirmed that the Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was a forced substitution in their defeat at the Emirates stadium over the weekend and this could possibly be an injury concern ahead of the UCL quarter-finals fixture against Bayern Munich.

In his post-match press conference, Mikel Arteta revealed, "He was feeling something. He could not continue."

When asked to elaborate on the issue, the Arsenal manager chose to remain tight-lipped, leaving fans unsure whether Odegaard will participate in the upcoming, highly anticipated Champions League quarter-final match against Bayern Munich, scheduled for Wednesday.
