Former US Open Champion, Angelique Kerber has ruled herself out of the final tennis grand slam of the year.

The tennis star announceed on her official Twitter account on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 that she will not participate in the US Open. The German, who spoke in parables said she opted out because playing two against one is unfair.

I really wanted to play the @usopen but eventually, I decided that two against one just isn‘t a fair competition ????❤️. For the next months, I will take a break from travelling the globe as a tennis player but then again, I believe it’s for the best possible reason ??! I will miss all of you.

The former World Number one, women's tennis player has three grand slams to her name. Kerber won the Australian Open and the US Open in 2016 before she went on to win the Wimbledon in 2018.
