Andre Onana's future with the Indomitable Lions takes another turn

Manchester United's number one shot-stopper, Andre Onana has been recalled by the Cameroonian Football Association ( Fecafoot).

The news was announced when the list of players invited for the qualifying game against Burundi was released on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Recall that had an issue with manager Rigobert Song and the Qatar 2022, FIFA World Cup which led him to retire from international football.

However, it is yet to be seen if Andre Onana will honour the invitation and be between the sticks for the Lions for the first time in almost ten months. The former Inter Milan goalkeeper has failed to hit the ground running since he joined the Red Devils.

He has played three competitive games for United, keeping a clean sheet on his Premier League debut against Wolves.

This decision might be a big blow for United because they might be without the 27-year-old if Cameroon qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations which will take place in Ivory Coast between January 13 and February 11 2024.
