Manchester United receive huge boost ahead of Arsenal clash

Manchester United received a huge boost ahead of their first Premier League game of the 2025/26 season against Arsenal following the return of Andre Onana.

The Red Devils welcomed back their first-choice goalkeeper, Andre Onana who has been sidelined for almost one month after he picked up an injury in training. The Cameroonian international was seen in training with his teammates at Carrington on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Andre Onana has not lived up to expectations since he joined Manchester United from Inter Milan during the 2022 summer transfer window. The shot-stopper has also been criticised by most of the supporters at the club.

Manchester United are reportedly planning a behind-closed-doors friendly game which will Onana, along with Benjamin Sesko the chance to test themselves in conditions close to official competition. This game will also as the opportunity to sharpen their fitness and boost their confidence ahead of the season’s kickoff.

One of the players who is yet to return from injury is Lisandro Martinez, the Argentine has been sidelined since February 2025 but has yet to make a return for the Red Devils.

Noussair Mazraoui is also out injured, the Moroccan played no part in United's tour of the US due to a knock. He started the pre-season opener against Leeds in Stockholm last month and was taken off at half-time.

Joshua Zirkzee also did not featured for United this pre-season because of an unspecified injury complaint he sustained prior to the tour of the USA. He did travel to the US but was unable to participate in team training.
