The woes of Manchester City continued in the Premier League after they suffered another defeat against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.

Two late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo were enough to grant Manchester United maximum points against the Premier League Champions ( Manchester City). Both teams have been in bad form heading into the Derby across all competitions, this match was one that they both needed victory from as they could not afford a defeat as they look to boost their chances on the Premier League table.

The reigning champions looked to secure three points when Josko Gvardiol headed them into a first-half lead. United struggled to create many chances but leveled the score with just minutes remaining when Matheus Nunes brought down Diallo in the box, with Fernandes converting the penalty kick.

Diallo scored the winning goal of the match by putting the ball over Manchester City's goalkeeper, Ederson, and the rest of the City defenders.

What did Ruben Amorim say about his victory over Manchester City?

This game was the second time that Ruben Amorim will defeat Manchester United in less than two months, the first was in the UEFA Champions League when he was at Sporting Lisbon.

He said,

"It was incredible. It was Fergie time, I believe in it, something magic happened. I think we deserved it. It was very tough match but we believe until the end. We managed to score, we needed that win, it was important for us and for our fans”.

What did Pep Guardiola say about his defeat against Manchester United?

"We are not nice in the way we play. Before, I would say, it was fluid. Now we struggle for different reasons, of course for the lot of defeats. We didn't play at our best, some positions we are not at our best, and we struggle a little bit. But it is what it is. I am the manager of these players, I am the manager of this club, and I have to find solutions, and so far I didn't find it. This is the truth."

The win moves United up to 12th in the Premier League table. City remains fifth, having now won only once in 11 games in all competitions.
