Saudi Arabia-based club side, Al Ittihad have made a shocking bid for Arsenal's midfielder, Leandro Trossard on a season loan deal with an obligation to buy next summer.

Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official social media accounts on Monday, September 2, 2024. According to the Italian, Al-Ittihad submitted a €35m (£30m) offer to secure his signature of Leandro Trossard as they look to bring in more players before their transfer window shuts down.

He said,

"Saudi side Al Ittihad submit proposal in the region of €35m for Leandro Trossard. Decision up to Arsenal as he’s always been an important player for Arteta. Official proposal arrives ahead of Saudi Pro League deadline, as Al Ittihad keep looking for new winger."

The 29-year-old has started just once in the Premier League so far this season which was against his former side, Brighton. There are also reports from Arsenal that Leandro Trossard is not happy that he has not been able to break into the first team since he completed his move to the Emirates last season (2023/24).

However, the Athletic has confirmed that the deal was rejected by Arsenal as soon as they received it. There is no clear indication if Al Ittihad will submit a new bid for Trossard or move onto other players with less time to go on their transfer window.

The supporters of Arsenal will hope that they can keep the Belgian in the squad as they will be needing squad depth due to the number of matches they will be playing across all competitions this season.
