Ajax confirms termination of its head coach's contract

Ajax Football Club have confirmed the termination of the contract of its head coach, Maurice Steijn with immediate effect.

The Eredivise side confirmed this on its official website on Monday, October 2023. According to the club, the agreement was reached by mutual consent by both parties following a series of bad results.

Ajax are currently bottom of the league table, this is the lowest in the history of the club. The former league champions have not won a game in their last eight games, 22 points behind the league leaders PSV. They currently stand 3rd in their Europa League table with a high chance of dropping down to the Conference League.

Ajax have only won one league game this season and have conceded 16 goals. The supporters of the club will hope for a change on the club's fortune going into the rest of the season.
