Captain of the Egyptian national team, Mohamed Salah has spoken ahead of the opening group game against Nigeria on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022.

The Liverpool player was speaking in a press conference ahead of the crunch tie. Salah spoke about his desire to win a trophy with the national team and the strength they have as a team.

I will love to win something with the country and I will give my best to the team. We have a good coach and players and hopefully, we will win it ( AFCON).

He was also asked about how he is the most dangerous player in the team.

I am just part of the team and I would not regard myself as the most dangerous player in the team. I am here to play with the team.

The Egyptians will hope they can win their eighth AFCON title but they must scale past Nigeria, Sudan and Guinea Bissau.
