Here is the final scoreline of the AFCON qualifiers fixture between Nigeria and Sierra Leone, played today, Thursday, June 9, 2022.

The AFCON Qualifiers match between Nigeria and Sierra Leone marked the first victory for the Super Eagles of Nigeria under the leadership of Jose Peseiro. Goals from Victor Osimhen and Alex Iwobi completed the comeback for the Super Eagles after going one goal down in the 11th minute.

Although the second leg would still be played later in preparation for the AFCON 2023 scheduled to take place in Cote d'Ivoire, the Super Eagles of Nigeria look to be in a better form compared to what was played at the friendlies in May 2022.

The players could have gotten more goals but chances put to waste by Chukwueze and Osimhen put the game within reach of the Sierra Leonians till the referee blew the final whistle.
