Jose Peseiro gives an update on his contract with the Super Eagles

The head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Jose Peseiro have spoken about the possibility of extending his contract with the West African nation.

The Portuguese international was speaking in an interview at a pre-match press conference ahead of the quarter-final clash against Cameroon on Saturday, January 27, 2024. He was speaking about what the future holds for him as the head coach of the Super Eagles.

"The difficulties are many, but I have never exposed them and I will not expose them. There is so much misleading information. Someone who was mentioned, he is not even a leader of the federation, a person I have never seen here, the Nigerian press, which is a crazy thing, spread it and then [Portugal] picked it up."

He continued,

" Will I continue to be at the front of the national team? I have a contract until the end of the CAN. I've been offered a renewal, but I didn't want to'"
