Super Eagles of Nigeria confirm Sadiq Umar's replacement at AFCON 2023

The Super Eagles of Nigeria in an official statement have confirmed the player that will take the place of the injured Sadiq Umar at AFCON 2023.

There had been initial doubts about the match fitness of Sadiq Umar following a knock he picked up during the friendlies against Guinea.

The Super Eagles in a message for fans on social media today, Friday, January 12, 2024, that the Spanish La Liga forward is out and will be replaced by Paul Onauchu of Southampton who is currently on loan at the  Süper Lig club Trabzonspor.
