#AFCON2021: Augustine Eguavoen Named Best Coach of the Group Phase
Coach of the Super Eagles, Augustine Eguavoen has been named the best coach of the group stage at the ongoing African Cup of Nations.( AFCON).

The Nigerian was given the award following the fantastic performance of his team during the group stage. The Super Eagles won all their group games against Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau, scoring six (6) goals and conceding just one (1).
The Super Eagles play Tunisia in the next round of the competition on Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 at 8 p.m.( GMT). Coach Eguavoen will hope he can lead his team to the quarter-finals with a win over the Tunisians.
The last time Nigeria played Tunisia at AFCON with Eguavoen on the bench, he was assistant to Christian Chukwu. The Super Eagles won the game 6-5 on penalties after playing 1-1 in 120 minutes of football.
