Arsenal and Southampton are reportedly close to reaching a deal for Aaron Ramsdale before the end of the 2024 summer transfer window.

Aaron Ramsdale has been in search of a new club since the transfer window opened after he lost his number-one spot to David Raya who joined the Gunners on loan from Brentford last season (2023/24). Transfer new guru, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official social media account on Wednesday, August 28, 2014, accessibility to him the Saints are interested in the services of the England international.

The Saints are reportedly preparing a loan bid for the 26-year-old goalkeeper, hoping to bring him to St Mary’s Stadium following their poor start to the Premier League campaign. Southampton have suffered defeats in their opening two matches against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal would prefer a permanent sale, they are open to a loan deal under favourable terms.

If Ramsdale departs in the coming days, Arsenal are expected to move quickly to secure a replacement. The North London club has been linked with Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, who has a €30 million release clause in his contract.
