Young Jonn reacts to post claiming he charges 15 million naira to perform

Singer and producer Young Jonn has reacted to reports by a social media user stating that the 'Sharpally' crooner charges 15 million naira to perform on stage.

The allegation resulted from the concern fans and industry figures expressed regarding the direction Afrobeats is taking as a result of Nigerian artists who have been assigned the task of propelling the sound to greater heights.

Concerns were raised about how and why some Nigerian artists charge as much as a million dollars to perform for their home fans. A social media user alleged that Young Jonn was one of the artists charging exorbitant fees. This prompted a response from the award-winning singer himself, who addressed why his hard work is being undermined. He posted on the social media platform X, and the post read, "just like you have done today, tomorrow the world will devalue, discredit and disrespect your work regardless of the sacrifice, sweat or work you’ve put in! WEREY!"
