Wizkid sets record for longest gap between chart-topping singles
Nigerian music superstar Wizkid has made history by setting a new record for the longest gap between number one songs on the TurnTable Top 100 chart.
His latest collaboration with Asake, MMS, has reached the top spot. This marks Wizkid's second chart-topper and a gap of 3 years, 9 months, and 12 days since his last number one single, Ginger, featuring Burna Boy.
Meanwhile, this achievement surpasses the previous record held by Omah Lay. Also, it solidifies Wizkid's longevity in the music industry, maintaining his position as a leading artist in Nigerian mainstream music for over a decade.
Additionally, Wizkid is set to release his highly anticipated sixth studio album, Morayo, named after his late mother, with confirmed collaborations with Nigerian artists. Lastly, the album follows his recent guest appearances on tracks by DJ Tunez, Shenseea, and Asake. Wizkid has touted it as his best project yet.
