Joeboy reacts to Wizkid's comments on Afrobeats
Nigerian musician Joeboy has come to the defence of fellow Afrobeats star Wizkid, claiming that the public is misinterpreting Wizkid's recent comments or actions.
Wizkid made comments, saying that he wasn't purely an Afrobeats artist. And that caused a major uproar among Nigerian netizens. Joeboy seems to believe that the situation has been misconstrued. He said, "Wizkid’s statement is being misunderstood, he is not running away from Afrobeats."
Joeboy expresses his support for Wizkid. "All we are saying is our identity is Afrobeats but please don’t box us because we can make other genres of music too" Joeboy continued.
Joeboy stands with Wizkid, sharing the sentiment that while Afrobeats is their foundation, they shouldn't be limited to creating only that genre.
