Wizkid has made an unexpected return to the Billboard World Albums chart with 'Made in Lagos' extending his record for Africa.

Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Wizkid’s fourth studio album, “Made in Lagos,” has re-entered the Billboard World Albums chart, securing the 17th position and marking its 146th week on the chart, a record-breaking achievement for an African album.

Released back in 2020, “Made in Lagos” has been celebrated for its fusion of Afrobeats, reggae, and R&B, showcasing Wizkid’s versatility and global appeal.

The album features standout tracks like “Essence” featuring Tems, which became the first Nigerian song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking in the top ten after a remix with Justin Bieber.

The album’s enduring presence on the Billboard World Albums chart underscores its widespread acclaim and the growing international recognition of Afrobeats.

In 2022, “Made in Lagos” was ranked second on the Billboard Year-End World Album Chart, just behind BTS’s “Proof.”
