'Joy is coming' singer Fido sent social media into a frenzy when he took to his platform on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, to share a controversial statement where he stated that he was not discovered by anyone indicating that only he and God discovered his talent as an artist and wherever fans and music lovers see some on making a statement contrary to that it should be considered a scam. His post read, "Nobody discovered me, na me discover myself, anywhere you see say person talk say na dem discover me, na scam oo. Na God discover me not man. No let them scam you oooooo #onlyGod is the key."

He went on to add that marketing establishment make it seem as though they are providing support for an individual as an artist when the reverse is the case and they are rather making money off the artist. His post read, "Marketing company go make you feel like na them Dey help your life, where as na you Dey make money for them, dem go still make you feel like say without them you no go fit make am. My brothers and sisters open your eyes and be wise, the day you show to them they you know what you’re doing they turn your enemies and they paint you bad out there."

How did Fido's former management react to this statement?

Fido's former management outfit Inner Circle through the founder Caleb Oyolola reacted to the statement made by the singer in a series of posts accompanied with screenshots of chats on both Instagram and Whatsapp social media platforms indicating that Inner Circle had played a huge role in building the brand known as Fido today.

The posts on social media read, "Inner Circle discovered you, gave you a name, and built your brand. I personally convinced Bimbo to come on board. We pushed 'Awolowo' together in Bariga. Now you dare say we never invested in you? He talks about investors as if he brought them. Investors wey invest in the team. This guy claimed we took his money and we didn't spend money on Mr Lover marketing. He said we activated option and he didn't know, yet baba was expecting advance. How do you expect advance without an option being activated."

The series of tweets went on to read, "We sent a spread sheet of all the money spent and yet he claims we are lying. Fuck you bro, that campaign cost at least $15k+, and the lesson here is simple: if the audience doesn't vibe with a song, don't force it(cos we tried doing that). Take the loss, and move on. Honestly, I'm baffled by how someone can be making progress yet remain haunted by their past. It's wild, honestly. You just signed a major deal with Empire-congrats! But instead of dwelling on old drama, focus on the future. Fido, You've got so much ahead of you; channel your energy there. All this back-and-forth feels unnecessary-unless it's some strategy to create buzz for your next release."

Joeboy also shared his thoughts in a post that read, "No man is an island. Don’t ever think your success is all you. There are people you don’t even know that helped you get to where you are. Be thankful."
