Billboard selected South African Afropop artist Tyla as the cover for its Eco Issue.

The Grammy Award winner graces the cover of the Billboard Eco Issue, slated for release on March 30. This comes after the debut of her first album. TYLA holds the No. 5 spot on Apple Music US's rankings. Epic's chairwoman/CEO Sylvia Rhone and president Ezekiel Lewis awarded her with three plaques celebrating the achievements of Water. She was awarded gold and platinum certifications across 18 nations (including the United States and South Africa). She surpassed 1 billion views on TikTok. Tyla secured the No. 1 position on Billboard's U.S. Afrobeats Songs, Rhythmic Airplay, and Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts.

Tyla has made it known that she is well on her way to becoming "Africa’s first pop star". The melodic star admitted that she had no clue her songs had been submitted for Grammy consideration. In February 2024, Tyla became the first recipient of Grammy Best African Music Performance for her hit song Water. She beat other African competitors such as Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, Olamide, and Ayra Starr. Tyla and Musa Keys were the only South African nominees.

She spoke on how amapiano has grown. She said “The South African genre of amapiano just started bubbling, and I’m so proud that South Africa has a genre that people are enjoying and paying attention to. I’m super proud of my country and where our sound has gone”.

Tyla has bagged six nominations at the Metro FM Music Awards. She has clinched a nomination for Best African Artist at the prestigious Ghana Music Awards as well.
