#TheList Season is back for the 5th consecutive year!

Back in 2013, notjustOk.com kickstarted a “Top 10” trend which was eventually nicknamed “The List” by artists, fans, OAPs and Nigerian music listeners in general. The different lists compiled by the notjustOk Team – particularly the “Most Gifted Rappers” list – caused a stir across the industry and it was certainly an exciting period for artists and fans alike. For that reason, we decided to make it a yearly thing.

The Year 2017 is virtually over, and in the last 12-15 months, we’ve witnessed the growth of several superstars with hit songs, tours, endorsements and more.

The 10 Hottest Artists in Nigeria 2017 list takes into account the hottest names in Nigerian music from the tail-end of 2016 till date. For the rest of the week, we’ll systematically reveal all 10 names on #TheList2017.

10. Ycee

"Too much juice, Too much sauce".

If you're a Naija music fan, and you haven't found yourself singing this line while exuding swagger in your own little way, you're not a true fan.

It's been an upward climb for Tinny Entertainment rapper, Ycee in the last couple years. His 2015 hit, "Jagaban", merged Atilogwu with Hip-Hop in a way we hadn't seen prior to that. In 2016, "Omo Alhaji" showed Ycee was no one-trick pony.

This year, Ycee finally established himself as one of the finest hip-hop acts in Nigeria with the release of the "First Wave" EP, housing the megasmash, "Juice" featuring Maleek Berry.

If "Juice" isn't on your Top 10 Hits of 2017, your list is "fake news!"

For this reason, Ycee finally makes his #NotjustokList debut. Congratulations!
