Nigerian singer Teniola Apata has clarified that she harbours no grievances over fellow artist Davido referring to her as his younger sister.

During her interview on the Zero Conditions podcast, she detailed the various ways in which Davido helped her as a music industry colleague.

Expressing her appreciation, Teni questioned the sensibility of those who took issue with the terminology, emphasising that she is indifferent to what Davido calls her. She underscored the significant impact of Davido's collaboration on her song, turning it into a massive hit.

Further highlighting Davido's generosity, Teni revealed an incident where the acclaimed artist rescheduled his commitments, extending the allotted time to shoot a music video with her. The Billionaire crooner cleverly employed the analogy of her driver respectfully addressing her as "madam," despite his seniority, to counter critics.

This revelation comes on the heels of Teni's recent recovery from an illness that had temporarily affected her speech. The artist's statements aim to shift the narrative away from perceived controversies surrounding Davido's choice of words, emphasising mutual respect and collaboration within the music industry.
