Teni opens up about life threatening throat infection

Nigerian singer Teni shared her battle with a life-threatening throat infection she was diagnosed with in July 2023.

Teni has recounted her diagnosis of a life-threatening throat infection in July while she was recording her second album. In the heartfelt video that she posted on social media, Teni revealed that her new album 'Tears of the Sun' will be released on November 17, 2023. Many celebrities have opened up this year about various health challenges. Tiwa Savage and Drake have also taken a musical hiatus to treat their health concerns.

After experiencing recurring episodes of temporary voice loss, Teni received medical advice to undergo a significant procedure to safeguard her vocal cords from potential permanent damage. In the heartfelt video, Teni said, "Testimony Time When you finally get to hear this Album, I want you to listen from your heart, embrace it with your soul and I want you to know, I gave it my all, spoke my truth from my heart, straight from my heart, against all odds. Tears of the sun".

In September, Teni revealed that she landed in the hospital due to multiple episodes of exhaustion. Teni also had to undergo a series of medical injections to address the repercussions of the throat infection. In October, she recovered her voice. 'Tears of the Sun' is an album of thanksgiving.
