Tems is the cover star for the new Dazed Digital issue and dropped several gems in conversation with them.
Arresting Nigerian singer, Tems spoke to British Style Magazine, Dazed Digital as the cover star for their latest issue and shared on her growth and current state of mind as a global act.
Tems who had spoken on several aspects of her music, like how inspiration flows through her at random, had said; "It’s just natural, like it’s coming from my soul. If I don’t voice it, it disappears."
The singer had also shared on her current state of mind regarding competition saying; "There cannot be any competition because I’m just being 100% myself. If you want something else, you can go somewhere else. It’s not by force.”
She also spoke on her hopes and aspirations, saying; " I want to be the first. So if I’m going to be the first person, what I bring, there can be nothing like it... One thing I know for sure is I’m the first of my kind, whatever my kind is.”
As an ambassador of Nigerian music and by so doing, Nigeria itself, Tems spoke on the Nigerian effect noting, "Nigerians are always the best at whatever they’re doing, whether that’s braids, hair, make-up, doctors… They’ll give you food and it’ll be over good, so that when you’re paying them, you know why."
Tems had previously also been featured on the cover of British magazine, GQ Hype.
