Tems’ manager gifts Nigerian lady $2,000 for defending singer in viral X debate

A Nigerian lady has received a surprise cash gift of $2,000 from Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, after she weighed in on a heated conversation about the singer’s body on X (formerly Twitter).
The incident followed a viral post by Grammy-winning singer Tems, who addressed the constant online discussions about her body, particularly comments about her backside. In her candid post, Tems called out critics and emphasized that her body is hers alone to embrace, adding that she has never felt the need to prove or disprove anyone’s opinions.
Her message sparked a flurry of mixed reactions on the platform, including a comment from a user who claimed only one person had made such remarks. Responding to the ongoing chatter, Muyiwa Awoniyi tweeted his frustration, saying, “No single sense do they have on this app. Not even half a sense.”
When a user criticized his generalization, another lady identified as @chidimmaibe jumped in to clarify that numerous ignorant and negative tweets had been made about Tems’ body, not just one.
Impressed by her sharp response and defense, Tems manager reached out to @chidimmaibe on X, requested her account details, and gifted her $2,000, commending her for having “a lot of sense.”
The unexpected gesture quickly went viral, with many social media users applauding the manager’s generosity and the lady’s boldness in speaking up.
