Grammy Award-winning Producer Swizz Beatz Reveals How He Introduced Wizkid And Burna Boy To America
Grammy award-winning producer Swizz Beatz opened up on how he introduced Wizkid and Burna Boy to America in a recent interview.
Legendary producer Swizz Beatz, in a recent podcast 'roundtable' on Amazon Prime, opened up on how he and his wife Alicia Keys had been the first people to introduce two of the biggest afrobeats artists today, Wizkid and Burna Boy, to America.
Swizz revealed how he and his wife had been the first people to actually play Wizkid's 'Ojuelegba' for people in 2015. He also opened up on how he had introduced Burna Boy on stage at his first major performance in the US as well.
He revealed that he had been viewed as too African when he started listening to more of Fela Kuti and afrobeats as a whole.
“Alicia Keys and I were the first people that introduced Wizkid to American audiences and I was also the first person to bring Burna Boy to the States.”
