Slimcase shares story behind hit song 'Azaman' and his admiration for 2Baba

Nigerian singer, Oluwafemi Oladapo Oko-Eko, better known as Slimcase, has shared the intriguing story behind the creation of his hit song, Azaman.

During an appearance on Naija Info FM that surfaced online on Friday, May 17, 2024, Slimcase detailed how he brought together the featured artists with the help of music executive, Larry Gaga.

Released in 2019, Azaman quickly became a popular track. Slimcase initially envisioned featuring Simi on the song, but their musical styles didn't quite match. His plans took a new direction after he heard Peruzzi's collaboration with 2Baba, which he admired greatly.

Slimcase, a longtime fan of 2Baba since his days with Plantashun Boiz, expressed his desire to collaborate with the veteran artist. When Peruzzi sent his vocals for Azaman to Davido, the superstar loved the track and wanted to be part of it. Despite this opportunity, Slimcase's admiration for 2Baba led him to choose the veteran singer over Davido for the guest feature.

Reflecting on his choice, Slimcase shared his deep respect for 2Baba, even stating that he would fully tattoo 2Baba's image all over his body if given the chance. Slimcase's admiration and determination have clearly shaped the memorable collaboration that Azaman became.
