Popular Nigerian singer Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, known professionally as Simi, has surprised fans with a recent revelation about her listening habits.

In an appearance on the "Zero Conditions" podcast, Simi admitted to host Joey Akande, "I don't really listen to music." The comment sent shockwaves through the audience, considering Simi's successful career in the Afropop music scene. She further clarified, "Ask anybody that came in the room with me. Ask them if I know anybody. I do not listen to a lot of music."

Simi did concede to listening to her husband, Adekunle Gold's music, but only because of their personal connection. "The reason I know my husband's songs is because I'm married to him," she explained. She even admitted to listening to her own music sparingly, stating, "I don't even listen to my songs. I'm only listening to my album right now because it's new. I'm pretty sure I'll stop listening soon."

The surprising confession has sparked discussions online, with some fans expressing disbelief and others finding the revelation relatable. Simi, however, did disclose one exception to her music aversion, sharing that she does enjoy the work of American rapper J Cole.

Whether a personal preference or a creative approach, Simi's unique relationship with music has certainly piqued the interest of fans and the music industry.
