Seun Kuti weighs in on Bobrisky's EFCC controversy
Renowned Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has entered the fray surrounding crossdresser Bobrisky's allegations against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
During a recent Instagram Live session, Kuti disclosed that social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) initially shared an audio recording with him, which implicated Bobrisky in a money laundering case. The recording allegedly revealed that the EFCC accepted a N15 million bribe to drop the charges.
In the audio, Bobrisky claimed he did not serve his jail term and mentioned rapper Falz and his father, human rights lawyer Femi Falana.
Meanwhile, Kuti stated that he encouraged VDM to expose Bobrisky and the EFCC after reviewing the evidence. The musician, who has experienced his own share of run-ins with the law, highlighted the disparity in treatment.
Also, he questioned why Bobrisky received preferential treatment. "I served my jail term, so why was Bobrisky freed?" Kuti asked.
