The musician took to Instagram to share a video of the incident, expressing shock and disbelief over the unexpected danger.
In the video shot in the United States, Seun Kuti could be heard reacting to the moment. He said, “Tell me you’re in America without telling me you’re in America. I’m in my hotel room just chilling and boom.” The clip displayed a visible bullet hole in the window, indicating just how close the bullet came to causing serious harm.
Visibly rattled, the singer used the incident to question the long-held image of the West as a place of safety and order. In the caption of his post, he wrote, “I read somewhere that these are the civilized people.”
