Some hours before the Summer Jam festival in New York city, Burna Boy had hopped on a televised video call with American media personality, Ebro Darden. On that call, the singer had spoken about his enthusiasm to be on the stage and some tricks he would deploy to keep the fans on their toes.

The call which was in anticipation of the Summer Jam fest that happened on the 12th of June, had been a 4-way call between Burna Boy and New York radio, Hot NYC hosts, Laura Stylez, Rosenberg and Ebro. Ebro had asked the star how he felt to be a major performer at the festival which is a major and one of the first summertime concerts in New York and according to Burna Boy, he felt blessed and honoured to be covering such shows.

He'd then been nudged by Rosenberg to share how he planned to approach the Summer Jam concert differently than his headline show at Madison Square Garden and this had gotten a cheeky response from Burna Boy.

Burna Boy replied saying; "I mean, if I tell you that, I've given away the whole thing haven't I?" He also added that if he didn't have tricks and surprises for his fans, he wouldn't be Burna Boy.

Burna Boy however missed the show and while he's yet to address his absence, the star had in the interview touched on how glad he felt to see how his music and Afrobeats in general, had grown to a global stage.
