Afrobeats continues to win and is evidenced in Billboard's end of the year charts for the genre. See the list here.
Top American music publication, Billboard, has put out their end of the year charts for Afrobeats to consolidate their exploration of the genre.
The end of the year list which consisted of 100 songs sees Burna Boy come tops with a total of 22 entries across all credits from "Last Last" to features like "Jerusalema" and, "Sungba" remix and more. With 14 entries, Asake comes next while Tems charts with the third highest act on the chart with 11 entries.
The list sees the year close out with Wizkid and Tems' Essence topping the charts and Fireboy DML's Peru coming up next while CKay's Love Nwantiti peaks at the third spot.
The Billboard Afrobeats charts was introduced in March 2022 in conjunction with Afro Nation to rank the top 50 Afrobeats songs in the US. And by all indications, it's been a great year for Afrobeats.
