Sarz explains why he hasn’t collaborated with Davido
Renowned Nigerian music producer, Sarz, has opened up about why he is yet to collaborate with Afrobeats superstar, Davido, despite their long-standing presence in the industry.
Speaking in an interview on Cool FM, which aired on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Sarz highlighted the stark contrast in their creative processes as the primary reason for the lack of collaboration.
“The way he works and the way I work are very different. I feel like that’s the big difference,” Sarz said during the conversation.
He went on to explain that while Davido thrives in a vibrant, social studio environment, he prefers a more intimate setting when working on music. “Davido always likes people around him whenever he’s in the studio and for me, that’s not how I work. I like to work alone with the artist—maybe that’s why we have not worked,” he added.
Despite not having worked together, both Sarz and Davido have made significant contributions to the global growth of Afrobeats, each carving out distinctive lanes in the genre’s evolution. Fans remain hopeful that a future collaboration may eventually bring their creative energies together.
