Afro-pop star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has publicly reacted to the release of his elder brother and former P-Square manager, Jude Okoye, after two months in detention.

Jude Okoye was arrested and arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on allegations of money laundering involving over ₦1.38 billion, $1 million, and €34,537.59. He was remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility pending his bail hearing on March 3, 2025, with his trial scheduled to commence on April 14, 2025.

A Lagos court, presided over by Justice Alexander Owoeye, later granted him bail, setting strict conditions which included two sureties each valued at ₦100 million and a restriction from traveling outside the country. However, in a dramatic turn, Jude was reportedly rearrested just hours after his bail was granted.

In the late hours of yesterday, April 23, 2025, multiple reports confirmed that Jude Okoye was finally released and had returned home to his family. A heartwarming video shared online captured the emotional moment he alighted from a car and embraced his wife.

Reacting to the release of Jude Okoye, Rudeboy took to his Instagram story, seemingly throwing shades at unnamed individuals he claimed had tried to frustrate his brother’s bail. “All their efforts failed,” he wrote, welcoming Jude back home and wishing him a happy birthday.

The news of Jude Okoye’s release has since sparked reactions across social media, with fans and supporters expressing relief and solidarity with the Okoye family.
