American rap mogul, Rick Ross has sparked excitement among fans after engaging in discussions with Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck about the possibility of collaborating on a joint album.

The conversation between Ross and Odumodublvck began in February when Ross expressed his admiration for African artists, particularly mentioning Odumodublvck and singer Portable. Ross voiced his desire to shine a spotlight on African talent through collaborative projects with artists from the continent.

In an Instagram live session with Odumodublvck that surfaced online on Thursday, March 7, 2024, Ross reiterated his eagerness to work with the Nigerian rapper, expressing his enthusiasm for releasing an album together. Ross made it clear that he wants to provide a platform for Odumodublvck to showcase his talent.

“So tell me one thing. When do we do this album I want this album out. I want to let my real n**a shine. What do you think are the possibilities,” he said. Odumodublvck replied, “I am a Christian and the Bible said what the Lord is set to do, eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, mouths cannot speak of the possibilities”.

During their conversation, Ross asked Odumodublvck to name three Nigerian artists who have inspired him. The Declan Rice hitmaker listed Burna Boy, 2Baba, Davido, and the late Afrobeat icon Fela Kuti, whom he affectionately referred to as "our pastor on the street."

“Give me three Nigerian artistes that inspire you being a young singer coming up. So when I sit back and listen to your music tonight I want to go back to your root and show three Nigerian artistes that really influence you coming up,” Ross asked.

“He is not old but I listen to Burna Boy coming up. Davido? That is the real ni**a. That is my brother. Everybody listens to Fela. Fela is like our pastor. Pastor to the streets. Finally, I go for 2face Idibia. Check for 2face Idibia. The first guy to have broken out. He sang the African Queen,” Odumodublvck replied.

In response to Odumodublvck's choices, Ross promised to link up with him during his North American tour with Shallipopi. Additionally, Ross advised the young singer to remain dedicated to his craft and to continue empowering his team and family through his music career.

The exchange between Ross and Odumodublvck has generated excitement within the music industry, with fans eagerly anticipating the potential collaboration between the American rap icon and the rising Nigerian talent.

As discussions continue, both artists remain committed to exploring the possibilities of creating music that transcends borders and celebrates cultural diversity.
