Rema’s ‘Rave & Roses’ hits milestone on Billboard chart

In a remarkable feat, Rema's debut album Rave & Roses has spent an unprecedented 100 weeks on the prestigious Billboard World Albums chart.

The album, released in March 2022, is cemented in history as the second Afrobeats project to reach this milestone. It joins Wizkid's Made in Lagos which spent 133 weeks on the chart.

Rave & Roses has been a global phenomenon, charting in numerous countries across the world. The album peaked at number 81 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the second longest-charting Afrobeats album on the chart, behind only King Sunny Ade's record of 29 weeks.

What are the Rave & Roses album other achievements?

On the Billboard World Albums chart specifically, Rave & Roses is the only debut Nigerian album to spend over 40 weeks and one of only two Afrobeats albums currently on the chart, sitting at number 5 with a total of 51 weeks.

The album's success has been further bolstered by its numerous certifications worldwide. It is the first African album to be certified Gold in Poland, Platinum in Canada, and Gold in France. It also has eligible gold certifications in Belgium, South Africa, and the USA, as well as a platinum certification in Switzerland.

The album's lead single, Calm Down, has been a major contributor to its global impact. The song has amassed over 2 billion streams across both versions, making it the most-streamed Afrobeats song of all timeCalm Down has also earned Rema a Guinness World Record as the first number 1 song on the MENA chart and has sold over 20 million units worldwide.

Rema's achievement with Rave & Roses is a testament to the growing global recognition and popularity of Afrobeats music.
