Rema reacts to rumours of receiving $3 million to perform at Indian billionaire son's wedding

The Afrobeats poster boy didn't give a direct response to whether the rumours of being paid $3 million were true or not.

Nigerian heavyweight singer and performer Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has reacted to the rumours of him being paid a whopping $3 million to perform at Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani son's wedding.

Accorded to as the wedding of the year, the wedding of Asia's richest man saw pop icon Rihanna come out of "retirement" for a hefty pay to perform at the private pre-wedding bash. The wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant (now Radhika Anant Ambani) also saw global stars like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Akon, and Pitbull show up.

The Mavin/Jonzing signee was also billed to perform at the wedding, and rumours went around that he was paid a whopping three million dollars (close to five billion Naira). Speaking with UK media platform GRM Daily on the latest episode of "Thoughts in a Culli," when asked by the host, the singer responded that he couldn't confirm or deny the rumours but made known that he was paid handsomely for the gig and as well treated very well by the family and the whole of India at large.

The singer in the interview also spoke about his career, Afrobeats, competing with Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido, among other interesting topics.
