Producer Vampire clarifies ownership of controversial song 'Winning'
The ongoing feud between Nigerian music duo P-Square's former members, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) and Peter Okoye (Mr P), has taken a new turn as the song's producer, Vampire, breaks his silence.
Vampire, the music creative behind the contentious song Winning, revealed that the track was recorded and produced in 2022 for P-Square.
According to the producer, Vampire, he worked on the song as part of P-Square's project (for Peter and Paul Okoye). He sent the stems to their team for mixing and mastering, received payment, and then left Lagos.
"Two years later, one of the PSquare singers released the song, how is that my fault? Na me dey manage P-Square?" Vampire questioned.
Meanwhile, the controversy began when Peter Okoye announced the release of Winning on Instagram, prompting Paul Okoye to claim ownership, stating he wrote and sang the song.

Peter Okoye responded, sharing his phone conversation with Vampire, clarifying the song's ownership. "Person no dey thief him own Property!. It is well!" Mr P wrote. Also, he acknowledged Vampire as the producer and @calypso60music as co-writer.
Additionally, Vampire's statement supports Peter's claim, indicating that Winning was a P-Square project from 2022.
Paul Okoye had vowed to share original versions of any duplicated songs, but Vampire's clarification sheds new light on the song's origins.
