Portable first came into the limelight in 2021 with the popularity of his hit single, Zazoo Zeh. The popular track featured Olamide and Poco Lee, which took the song to new heights in terms of reachability.

Since then, he has been making music and showing the public more of his personality. His aggressive, extroverted nature has unfortunately let him get entangled in some controversies.

One of the biggest of these controversies was back in 2022. Portable was nominated for two categories at the Headies Awards along with some fellow nominees.

He took to social media to threaten the other nominees and the Headies organisers if he didn’t win an award. This led to the organisers of the Headies Awards disqualifying him for his threatening remarks. Since this incident, Portable seems to have maintained a grudge against the Headies Awards and its organisers.

Today, only three days after the 2023 Headies took place in Atlanta, Portable seems to be taking a jab at them. Portable posted a new song to social media in which he sent the prestigious Nigerian awards some shade. He states that he is bigger than the Headies Award. He also sings that 2Pac never won a Grammy but was still great but he would win one instead. Portable also sings about not hurrying the creative process on his new track. He sings about God's timing being the best for things to happen, so he's not in a rush to win the awards.
