Portable raises alarm after alleged attack during Ikorodu performance

Nigerian street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has made headlines after claiming he narrowly escaped a potentially life-threatening incident during a live performance in Ikorodu, Lagos.
In a video now making rounds on social media, the Zazoo hitmaker alleged that an unknown individual attempted to inject him while he was on stage entertaining fans. Portable, known for his electrifying stage presence and outspoken personality, described the incident in Ikorodu as a harrowing experience, drawing parallels to the tragic circumstances surrounding the death of fellow artist Mohbad.
“I went to perform in Ikorodu and they injected me. They want to kill me like they did to Mohbad,” Portable said in the video shared via his Instagram page. He recounted how a man allegedly emerged from the crowd and tried to stab him with a syringe before he managed to react by striking the individual with his microphone.
The situation quickly descended into chaos, with an anxious crowd surging toward the singer. Portable disclosed that although no physical fight occurred, the commotion left him injured. “We didn’t fight at the show. It was just chaos. In the process of trying to embrace me, they hit my leg,” he explained, revealing a visibly swollen leg in the clip.
The visibly shaken artist suggested the alleged attack could have been orchestrated by people who wished to see his downfall. The incident has since sparked widespread concern among fans and followers, with many calling for heightened security measures for entertainers during public appearances.
As of the time of this report, no official statement has been released by security authorities or event organizers regarding the alleged incident.
