Portable publicly apologizes to Saheed Osupa after online backlash

Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has issued a public apology to Fuji legend King Saheed Osupa, days after launching a verbal attack against him.
On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, Portable shocked fans when he posted a video online, hurling insults at the 55-year-old Fuji icon, calling him derogatory names and dismissing his relevance in the industry. His outburst sparked widespread backlash, with many Nigerians criticizing the Zeh Nation boss for disrespecting a veteran.
Following intense social media pressure, Portable took to his Instagram page to express remorse. He acknowledged that their feud stemmed from a financial dispute. He explained that he lashed out after hearing that one of his songs might be removed from streaming platforms, affecting his earnings.
In his video apology, Portable pleaded with Saheed Osupa to forgive him, referring to the Fuji star as a father figure. However, despite his seemingly remorseful tone, he also suggested that the controversy ultimately served as a promotional boost for both their careers.
“King Saheed Osupa, my father, please don’t be angry. Money issues caused this fight, I only reacted because I wanted to make money from my music. Take me like a child to train, and I won’t disappoint you. We are both promoting each other—music is my livelihood. Please help me beg him, my fans. It’s all promotion,” he said.
Portable’s apology has sparked mixed reactions, with some applauding his humility while others questioned the sincerity of his words. Lastly, fans now wait to see if Saheed Osupa will respond or accept the peace offering.
