A court in Ilorin has granted bail to street-pop artist Portable following his arraignment on multiple charges related to a social media clash with Saheed Osupa.

An Upper Area Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, has granted ₦1 million bail to controversial street-hop artiste Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, following his arraignment on charges including criminal defamation, cyberstalking, public incitement, and intimidation.

The case stems from a dispute between Portable and Fuji musician Saheed Osupa, who alleged that Portable defamed him during a live Instagram video on 19 March, 2025. In the video, Portable reportedly accused Osupa of sabotaging his career by orchestrating the takedown of his track, Fuji Shakushaku, from Apple Music over a copyright dispute.

Osupa filed a formal complaint, claiming that the statements made during the livestream were aimed at damaging his reputation and provoking public hostility. The Nigeria Police's State Intelligence Department investigated the matter, leading to Portable's arrest in Abeokuta and transfer to Ilorin.

Although the court approved his bail on Monday, April 14, 2025, it came with strict conditions. Portable is required to present two sureties: one must be either the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), and the other must be a property owner in a Government Reserved Area (GRA) with a valid Certificate of Occupancy.

As of the time of reporting, Portable remains in custody for failing to meet the bail requirements.
