Nigerian singer Portable has addressed the controversy surrounding his altercation with a preacher outside his bar in Sango, Ogun State.

On September 16, 2024, Portable took to Instagram to explain his actions, stating that the preacher's behavior was suspicious and alarming.

According to Portable, weeks prior to the incident, someone disguised as a pastor had attacked his sister, leading him to believe the preacher was part of a setup. "He was not a man of God… The way he acted was why I slapped him," Portable said, apologizing for his actions.

Meanwhile, the incident, captured on Instagram Live on September 9, 2024, showed Portable confronting and slapping the preacher for allegedly disturbing his customers. Also, Portable claimed the preacher's actions were disrupting his business.

However, Portable's explanation comes after widespread backlash on social media, with many condemning his actions as unacceptable and disrespectful.

Also, in his apology, Portable acknowledged his imperfections. He said, "I'm a human being and I'm not perfect." Lastly, the singer's account raises questions about the preacher's intentions and the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
