Peter Okoye denies involvement in brother's EFCC detention, reveals alleged financial mismanagement
Peter Okoye, one half of the popular Nigerian music duo PSquare, has broken his silence on allegations made by his twin brother, Paul Okoye, that he was involved in his detention by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a lengthy statement posted on his Instagram page on, Peter Okoye denied ever petitioning the EFCC against his brother. He stated that his focus was solely on their elder brother, Jude Okoye, and his wife, Ifeoma, who were found to be operating a secret company, Northside Music. Also, he added that they were diverting millions of dollars and hundreds of millions of naira from their management company, Northside Entertainment.
Furthermore, according to Peter, he had discovered the secret company. He confronted Paul about it on multiple occasions, but Paul denied any knowledge. Additionally, Peter then took the matter to the EFCC, which led to Jude's detention. This was after he was found to have been collecting PSquare's royalties for years and transferring the money to his personal account.
Meanwhile, Peter Okoye emphasized that Paul's name was never included in the petition. He was only invited for questioning. This was along with others who had transactional dealings with Jude's secret company. Also, he revealed that Jude had confessed to sending money to Paul. Although, Jude claimed it was repayment of a loan from the sale of their house in America.
However, this statement comes weeks after Paul Okoye granted an interview with City FM, where he claimed that Peter had gotten him and Jude arrested by the EFCC.
Lastly, Peter's denial and revelations have shed new light on the ongoing feud between the brothers and their former manager.
