Nigerian Afrobeats star, Orezi, has opened up about the reasons behind his noticeable absence from the music scene in recent years.

Speaking during a recent interview on Hip TV’s Trending, the Shoki hitmaker admitted that a decline in personal ambition was a major factor in his career slowdown. According to Orezi, becoming too comfortable and stepping away from the competitive grind of the music industry negatively impacted his consistency and growth.

He emphasized the importance of staying driven, using Afrobeats heavyweight Davido as a prime example of how relentless work ethic sustains success.

“I faded out because I became less ambitious and comfortable with where I was,” Orezi confessed. “I was always on vacation, enjoying myself. I removed myself from the competition, and that affected my consistency.”

He added, “Competition fuels consistency. Look at Davido, he hustles like an upcoming artist. He has the money and fame but still keeps that hunger alive.”

Orezi’s candid reflection serves as a reminder of how relentless effort and consistency remain crucial in the fast-paced world of Afrobeats.
