Onyeka Onwenu's funeral arrangements revealed, burial set for today

The Nigerian music industry is still reeling from the sudden loss of legendary singer, Onyeka Onwenu, popularly known as the Elegant Stallion.

She passed away on July 30, 2024, after collapsing at a birthday party in Lagos, and was rushed to Reddington Hospital, Ikeja, where she was pronounced dead.

As the nation mourns her demise, details of her funeral arrangements have emerged. The burial flier surfaced on social media hours before the funeral. So, Onyeka Onwenu will be laid to rest on Friday, August 30, 2024.

Meanwhile, the funeral service will begin with a service of songs at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, Lagos, from 10 am to 12 pm. The late singer will then be buried at the Ebony Vaults in Ikoyi from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Although, Onwenu's passing has sent shockwaves across the country. Many Nigerians have taken to social media to pay tribute to the music icon. Lastly, her legacy and contributions to the Nigerian music industry will be deeply missed.
